Team Building in a Day!More and more, organizations are realizing that effective working teams are good for business. Teambuilding is not just something that is "nice to do" for employees - it's imperative to the long-term success of your business!

We have worked with dozens of organizations during the last decade to help them to improve both their employee satisfaction indicators as well as their business results. How? By working with the company's most valuable assets - their employees - to build effective working teams.

Upon completion of the "Teambuilding In A Day! workshop you will be able to effectively:

  • Understand the importance of communication and identify tips for improving communication within your work team;
  • Learn the importance of working together within your team and across organizational boundaries;
  • Identify the phases of team development and the characteristics of each; and
  • Identify and implement tips for making a personal contribution to your team.

Here are a few common problems that teams run into:

  • Information is not shared with colleagues or supervisors, resulting in a duplication of effort and/or misunderstandings.
  • People take sides when conflicts between individuals arise.
  • People work physically BESIDE each other rather than working together.
  • Departments work AGAINST each other rather than together towards common goals.

These are a just a few of the common AVOIDABLE problems that teams encounter! During this 1-day teambuilding training session, you and your teammates will learn key strategies for working effectively as a team. This highly participative, learner centered teambuilding training session will provide you with the tools and skills to be effective and productive members of your team.

Key Topics Include:

  • Communication: A lack of or, at the very least, poor communication is so often at the root of problems that teams encounter. Everything from differing expectations around the amount, type and timing of communication, to the art of communication itself can be sources of conflict within a team. You will explore the importance of communication through hands-on activities and then relate your learnings back to your working environment.

  • Working Together: Departments and individuals often fall into a trap of working against each other, rather than together. Through hands-on activities, you will explore the concept of “team”, challenge your paradigms, and apply your learnings to your working environment. You will discuss and create strategies for overcoming the challenges of working in a team-based environment.

  • Individuals: “Look what snowflakes can do when they stick together…” You will explore the skills and knowledge that are critical to equip employees with in order to build successful team-based working environments and then identify the strengths that you bring to your team and devise strategies for improving the quality of your contributions.
