When team members have a high personal connection to the issue being discussed, it is often difficult for them to separate the process from the problem. It can be very challenging for you to both lead the team through the problem-solving process and be involved in the problem-solving process at the same time - and that's why it is helpful to have a facilitator assist you...someone who is more concerned about the process than the issue itself.
Upon completion of the "Team Facilitation Skills" training workshop you will be able to effectively:
- Lead teams through the problem-solving process and help them to resolve issues and implement meaningful issue-related action plans;
- Understand and handle challenging team dynamics;
- Implement simple tips and techniques for enhancing the facilitation process;
- Work with stakeholders more effectively to help them identify desired outcomes and create strategies to accomplish them.

- Power struggles within the team create negative team energy.

- Facilitation Process: You will explore the process of facilitating a group as well as examine the stages of group maturity and the key roles that need to be defined and fulfilled in order to be successful.
- Tools and Techniques: Keep it simple! You will be exposed to more than a dozen simple, easy-to-use, easy-to-understand and easy-to-teach-to-others techniques that will help you to more effectively tap into and manage the ideas and enthusiasm of the groups that you facilitate.
- Problem Solving Model: It’s easy to jump right from the problem to a solution that “sounds good”. So often, however, we fail to STOP and really take the time to analyze all of the contributing factors – the result is that sometimes solutions are implemented that don’t really solve the problem. You will learn and work with a simple problem solving model that will help you to facilitate groups through the problem solving process from start to finish.
